​​​Southern Cross Catholic College Board

The College Board is a group made up of key stakeholders in the suc​cess of Southern Cross Catholic College. The College Board is an advisory board, they operate on a 'shared wisdom' model and are concerned with the bigger picture of strategic planning and governance, including policy direction. The College Board provides support and insight to the Principal and College Leadership Team on behalf of the wider community. The Board has input into the Strategic Planning for the College and is updated on the various projects being completed.

Dalene Wray AM​ 
Dalene is a linguist who has studied Spanish, Chinese and French abroad. She has lived, worked or studied overseas for half her working life. Dalene grew up in the outback Queensland town of Birdsville. She started her career as a radiographer in regional Australian hospitals and in hospitals in the United Kingdom before spending three seasons in Europe as a tour guide. Between 2009 and 2015 she gained invaluable international business experience whilst living in Beijing and then Hong Kong, driving business opportunities in Asia and the Middle East. Dalene moved to the Redcliffe Peninsula in 2015. She has three children attending the school, across the primary and secondary campuses.  
 
As Managing Director of OBE Organic, Dalene Wray is a major force for improving the sustainability of Australian agriculture by driving change, innovation and digital adoption & she acts as a role model​ for the rest of the industry. She has been a strong advocate of causes, such as mental health, indigenous reconciliation, diversity & inclusion. With grit and smarts and compassion, she has made a difference.  She is a champion of both people and planet. ​
 
 
Cheryl McLeary 
As an alumnus of the founding schools of SCCC, Cheryl has enjoyed being a student, parent and staff member across several campuses within our college. With nearly three decades of experience as a dedicated teacher, she demonstrates a deep commitment to education and a genuine concern for the well-being of students. A strong advocate for inclusive and equitable education, Cheryl firmly believes that every student deserves access to high-quality education that delivers improved student outcomes and excellence for all.
 
Committed to working in a collaborative culture, Cheryl believes that strong partnerships between students, staff, parents and the wider community are essential when fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment. By joining the SCCC board, Cheryl hopes to deepen positive connections and open lines of communication, working to ensure that the whole community feel heard, valued and included.
 
Nicole Cosgrove
Nicole is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience in working with small to medium sized businesses. Nicole has called Redcliffe her home throughout her childhood and adult life and has a strong connection to the Catholic schools and parish of the Redcliffe peninsula, having attended St Bernadette's Primary School and Soubirous College. She was also part of the transition to Southern Cross Catholic College in Years 9 and 10, graduating from Southern Cross in Year 12 in 1997. Her father was a teacher at De La Salle College until 1984 and her mother was heavily involved in the schools in many volunteer roles as a parent in the 1980s and 1990s.

Nicole and her husband Gerard now have their three children at Southern Cross Catholic College across the primary and secondary campuses, and Nicole has continued her family tradition by being involved in volunteer roles including being a Parent Rep on the Woody Point campus and a member of the College Board. Nicole is also an active member of Holy Cross Parish and is currently a member of the Parish Pastoral Council. Nicole also enjoys being involved in community groups, having been part of the Redcliffe City Youth Council, youth parliaments, various choirs, and non-profit organisations. 
 
 
Alan Johnson
Alan Johnson commenced at De La Salle in 1970 finishing senior, Grade 12, at Frawley College in 1975. For the last 22 years he has been the Group Finance Manager for a privately owned family company, Brisbane Isuzu. Brisbane Isuzu is the largest selling Isuzu truck dealership in Australia. He is a past chairperson of the SCCC Board. His daughter attended SCCC from P-12 finishing Grade 12 in 2016. He and his family still reside on the Peninsula at Clontarf.
 
 
Jeff Walls
Jeff is a local on the Redcliffe Peninsula. He has five children with his two youngest daughters studying at our college. Jeff has been heavily involved in various sports and community events via sponsorships, committees, advisory boards and fundraising activities over many years. Jeff has been Owner/Manager of Bank of Queensland (BOQ), North Lakes branch for the past sixteen years, and also BOQ Hamilton for the last two years.
