Southern Cross Catholic College is proud to offer our Academic Excellence Scholarship - an annual award that recognises, supports and celebrates young people of exceptional merit, character and promise, available to students entering Year 7, and new enrolments in Years 8-10.
Grounded in our Catholic identity and Lasallian tradition of social justice, this scholarship is designed to ensure that a Southern Cross Catholic College education is accessible to students who demonstrate outstanding ability, regardless of personal or financial circumstance.
We believe that every young person who has the potential, drive and character to contribute positively to our community deserves the opportunity to do so. This scholarship is one of the ways we live that belief.

Southern Cross Catholic College Academic Scholarship |
Requirements
- For Year 7 commencement in 2027, students can be a current student of Southern Cross Catholic College primary campuses, or enrolling for Year 7 from other primary schools. For students applying for entry into Years 8-10 in 2027, they must be new students to the College, applying from another school.
- All students will sit the ACER Scholarship Test on the morning of Saturday 17 October. Parents must log into the ACER website and create a Parent Account to register your child for the exam. Parents can register at the ACER website: Register for the ACER Scholarship Test. A payment of $140 is payable to sit the exam. If payment of the fee is a barrier to applying, please reach out to the College at SSCAEnrolments@bne.catholic.edu.au for a confidential discussion with our Head of Campus. Applications must be submitted to ACER by Friday 2 October.
- An application for scholarship in 2027 must be submitted to the College by Friday 2 October. Applications after this date will not be considered. This application is to provide us with a holistic understanding of your child's academic ability, character and contribution. Applicants will also be asked to submit:
* Student's most recent three reports
* Letter of reference from current Principal/Teacher
* Optional additional supporting documents such as certificates, achievements, parish reference

Both current Southern Cross Catholic College primary students and students from other schools are welcome to apply for Year 7 entry, along with new enrolments for Years 8-10.
Yes. To be considered for a scholarship, families must:
- Register for and sit the ACER Scholarship Test
- Submit the College application form found via a link on the Scholarships webpage.
Both steps are required.
No. The scholarship is awarded based on a holistic review, which includes:
- ACER test results
- School reports
- Reference from your child's Principal or teacher
- Evidence of character, leadership and contribution
Yes. Students who are not currently enrolled at Southern Cross Catholic College will also need to submit a
standard enrolment application to the College which can be found at
SCCC Enrolment Applications.
All applications must be submitted to the College and to ACER by Friday 2 October. Late applications will not be accepted.

Up to 10 scholarships may be offered each year.
