Years 5-7 Camp Program
For many students, Year 5 camp is the first time they have spent time away from their families. Camp is an exciting time where new friendships are developed, old ones are strengthened and students get down and dirty doing fun activities they may never have experienced.
Year 6 sees students visit the Sunshine Coast where they, amongst other things, learn surf safety and spend time soaking up the sea and sand.
Students in Year 7 go on camp within the first few weeks of the commencement of high school. This provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other as well as the teachers, in a relaxed, fun environment, outside of the classroom.
Year 9 Emu Gully, Tamborine
Students in Year 9 attend Emu Gully at Tamborine, where adventure, history and personal growth come together in a powerful and memorable experience. Through immersive, hands-on challenges, students explore stories of courage, mateship, sacrifice and perseverance, gaining a deeper appreciation of Australia’s past. A focus on teamwork, initiative and resilience encourages students to step beyond their comfort zones, develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills, and actively contribute to group success. Guided by experienced facilitators, students build confidence, strengthen relationships and gain practical life skills that extend far beyond the campsite.
Year 10 Barambah Cultural Immersion
As a means of strengthening our connection to country, culture and others, Year 10 students have the opportunity to take part in an elective indigenous immersion to Cherbourg, where they learn about the displacement of indigenous families and children from 1910-1970. Students are immersed in a wide variety of cultural and learning experiences, strengthening cultural understanding and increasing awareness of indigenous culture, history and traditions. It is an opportunity for students to reflect and share experiences and knowledge with their cohort upon their return.
